Some server maintenance operations are carried out when the server is not running and is offline. To perform such operations, select Support menu when the server is booting and then select the desired operation. To access this menu, connect a monitor to a VGA (HDMI) port and a keyboard to a USB port (if these ports exist on the device) or use a special serial cable or a USB-Serial adapter to connect your computer to UserGate MC. Launch a terminal that supports connecting via a serial port, e.g. Putty for Windows. Establish a serial port connection using 115200 8n1 as the connection parameters.
During the boot process, the administrator can select from the following boot menu options:
Name |
Description |
---|---|
UGOS MC |
Boot UserGate and output diagnostic information about the boot process to the serial port. |
UGOS MC (failsafe) |
Boot UserGate in simplified video mode. |
